The Brothers

The Brothers

Two of Boorloo’s finest musicians, guitarist Brett Dimer (from Wongi country) and bassist Daniel Knight (from Koori country) combine musical forces in their accomplished and versatile band, The Brothers. Drawing from a wide range of musical influences ranging from Rock to Country and Blues to Gospel, The Brothers aren’t limited to one genre and perform all songs with their own unique style.

The Brothers are made up of some of the best musicians in town, all with different backgrounds both musically and culturally and have performed for the City of Armadale, City of Swan, City of Kwinana and many local community festivals, including NAIDOC Week, and private functions. They also cater for a unique market by being a regular band for the WA Department of Corrections, performing all over the prisons. The Brothers band have also performed with legendary Aboriginal artist Delly Stokes from the award-winning Yabu Band.

The Jarrah Celts

Jarrah Celts

The Jarrah Celts Trio is a band of Australian Celtic musicians from the Jarrah forests of Roleystone, tucked away in the Perth hills of Western Australia.

Led by flute wielding frontman in a hat, Chris Horgan, the Jarrah Celts are descendants of Celtic people who settled in Western Australia as far as 150 years ago. As such, their music is strong with an Irish and Scottish base, infused with influences from our Australian home (Noongar country) with hints of jazz, blues and roots.

Joining Chris are two other Roleystone locals, Dave Cooper and Jon Edwards.

Get swept away with lively dancing jigs and reels or sing along with us to rowdy pub ballads. You can expect to hear hearty tunes played with a collection of acoustic instruments such as wooden flutes, fiddles, bodhran, digeridoo, guitars, double bass and mandolin.

At their core, the Jarrah Celts are an original band, performing a growing catalogue of home-grown Celtic tunes and ballads. They are also one of Perth's leading Irish and Scottish bands, hosting Ceilidhs and performing tunes from the likes of Plantxy, Dubliners, Corries, Pogues, Christy Moore, and Mumford and Sons.

Hailing as Armadale locals, as well as being great entertainment for private functions and Sunday sessions, Thistledoo plays for regional and Perth Celtic folk celebrations.
