Round two of the City of Armadale’s Community Grants Program will see $12,946 allocated to 17 local not for profit organisations for projects and programs to be delivered over the coming months.

From local events to equipment for playgroups, the funding will deliver considerable benefits to the wider community.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the Community Grants Program was part of the City’s commitment to local community organisations who do so much for this great City with limited budgets.

“Our City is fortunate to have so many community organisations and volunteers providing a range of services. The City is pleased to assist their cause through our community grants program,” Mayor Zelones said.

Some of the activities and projects which the Community Grants Program will make possible include an open day for the Bedfordale Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade, a 30th Year Anniversary Concert presented by the Armadale City Concert Band and the Armadale Gymnastics club will benefit with the purchase of new safety equipment.

“Our funding pool is limited, but we do our best to help as many organisations located within the City as possible throughout the year, which in turn benefits the wider community,” said Mayor Zelones.

Each financial year, the City provides two rounds of community grant funding, designed to support locally based initiatives, developed by community groups within the City of Armadale.

Grants of up to $1000 are available to sporting clubs, schools, welfare, arts, youth, seniors and ethnic groups to help fund activities, projects and programs which benefit Armadale community members.

The table below lists details of those community groups and organisations awarded a grant in round two of the 2016/2017 Community Grants Program.
