NBN Update

Residents and businesses in Armadale and Kelmscott are reminded that if they haven’t already, now is the time to switch to an nbn powered plan.

Several suburbs will be disconnected at some stage during the year as nbn™ broadband access network is replacing parts of the existing phone and internet infrastructure. Letters from nbn will be sent out three months and then five weeks out from the disconnection date of each property.

Residents and businesses are also reminded that they now have a choice of speeds.  When switching to a new plan make sure you choose a speed that suits your specific needs.

The nbn’s guide to Australia’s new broadband is available at:  www.nbnco.com.au/nbn-guide.html#next

A guide for businesses on how to make the switch and a business readiness checklist is available at www.nbn.com.au/business

The commencement of fixed wireless to service residents and businesses in parts of Forrestdale, Roleystone South and Karragullen has begun through the design and construction phases.  For those residents falling outside of the fixed wireless footprint, the Sky Muster satellite service has been available since 2016.

To find the technology services available for your premises and to get the latest information including the Retail Service Providers offering services, head to the Check Your Address function on nbn’s website at www.nbnco.com.au/switch.

Precinct 95 Forrestdale Business Park

A turning of the sod ceremony on 27 March represented the beginning of a new chapter in the Forrestdale Business Park’s history – the construction of Precinct 95, an exciting new 18 hectare commercial/industrial land release within the existing Forrestdale Business Park.

This new chapter in the Forrestdale Business Park’s history is expected to be developed over the next five to seven years and once fully completed it is estimated it will be worth $200 million.

The City is proud to have this keystone location within the City of Armadale and we are working hard to promote and activate development in this space.

As one of Perth’s most affordable commercial and industrial precincts, it will attract valuable economic growth opportunities for diverse businesses including owner occupiers and investors.

The precinct will be a major employment zone, creating up to 750 jobs during construction. The final development within the precinct will create up to 1000 full time jobs, a great opportunity for residents in the south eastern corridor.
