Artists from across the State will showcase their talent at this year’s Minnawarra Art Awards from 11 to 27 May, at the Greendale Centre, throughout the Armadale Arts Festival hosted by City of Armadale and supported by Lotterywest.
Ron Nyisztor will curate the 2018 awards, with judges Amanda Alderson, Kate Parker and Dr Ric Spencer deciding the 2018 art award winners.
2018 will feature around 60 entries and the Awards are continuing to grow in popularity and calibre, the event serves as an enthralling centrepiece for the City’s Armadale Arts Festival, celebrating art across many mediums.
“The Awards are also a progressive way to discover talented artists and their works, whether they live locally or hail from across the State, with their artwork displayed as one captivating exhibition for Armadale and the wider Perth community to enjoy,” said Nyisztor.
Armadale Arts Festival is now in its third year; and will deliver an array of events and activities celebrating art and culture across the City.
Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the Arts Festival continues to attract a growing number of visitors enthusiastic about art, with the event incorporating mural art, musical performances, literary events and plenty of activities for all ages to participate in.
“One of its major features is the Minnawarra Art Awards, and it is always fantastic to see how many talented artists we have living and creating in the City of Armadale,” Mayor Zelones said.
