Put your best foot forward and step into a free volunteering information session at the Champion Centre from 10 to 11am on Friday 21 July.

The Step into Volunteering information session will give anybody interested in volunteering, but not sure how to get started, an opportunity to find out about positions available for volunteers to get their foot in the door.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said: “Volunteering covers a wide spectrum of positions including youth work, aged care, emergency service and environmental services. There is something for everyone.

Volunteers who dedicate hours of their time are an invaluable part of our community and to organisations. I would encourage anybody interested in volunteering to attend the next information session.”

More than 600,000 West Australians volunteer their time and research has shown that volunteering has links to positive health and wellbeing.

“There are a lot of positive benefits to volunteering – those that volunteer live happier and healthier lives and link positive health and wellbeing benefits back to the flow-on effect from the ‘helpers-high’ that they get from giving back to their community.”

Bookings are essential. RSVP by 19 July on 9394 5642 or email volunteering@armadale.wa.gov.au.
