Ratepayers on the City’s A Smarter Way to Pay direct debit payment system are reminded of the payment processing dates over the Christmas/New Year period.

Chief Executive Officer Ray Tame said the direct debit payments due on Friday 23 December and Friday 30 December will be processed as usual, given both dates this year are business days.

“If ratepayers need to change their direct debit payment amount for the above dates, they must contact the City’s Rates Team on 9394 5164 by Thursday 22 December, as changes after this date will not be possible.”

The City’s Administration Centre will close at noon on Friday 23 December, 2016 and will re-open on Tuesday 3 January, 2017 at 8.15am.

“The City’s A Smarter Way to Pay is a unique direct debit payment system that provides ratepayers with flexible payment options when it comes to rates time.

“The City is one of a few local governments in WA that provides ratepayers with an option to pay their Council Rates in weekly, fortnightly and monthly payments. This reduces the stress of lump sum payments, which is especially welcome at this time of year,” said Mr Tame.
