The City of Armadale’s Positive Ageing Seniors Festival 2017 will be hosting over 19 events throughout October and November.

In celebration of Children’s Week and Senior’s Week, an intergenerational Age Friendly Expo – For the Young and Young at Heart is just one of the events scheduled as part of the festival.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP is encouraging seniors and families with children to attend the celebrations.

“Don’t miss this free Age Friendly Expo, for the young and young at heart, taking place in the Jull Street Mall and Armadale Shopping City on Thursday 26 October from 9.30am to 1.30pm.”

The Expo, supported by Armadale Shopping City and New Spring Church will feature over 55 information displays for all age groups, live entertainment, interactive experiences, health and wellbeing activities, and cooking and cake decorating demonstrations.

“Make a day of it and sit back and relax with friends as you enjoy some classic and contemporary music from the Classic Sounds Orchestra and Huaira, a Chilean Pan Pipe band.”

Some other events scheduled during the Seniors Festival include Come Dance with me hosted by Explosive Dance & Theatre Co, Classic Sounds Melodies held at Classic Sounds and a Seniors’ Dinner and Entertainment Night hosted by the Sri Lankan Cultural Society of Western Australia.

“There is plenty to do, see and participate in, during this year’s Positive Ageing Seniors Festival and I encourage our seniors to take advantage of the events programmed and try something new,” said Mayor Zelones.
