The $8 million Harrisdale Pavilion and Playing Field is complete, and the City of Armadale is now seeking sporting clubs to make best use of the new shared facility.

Located between the Harrisdale Primary School and Secondary School on Gracefield Boulevard, the pavilion and playing field is the first of nine facilities where a shared use partnership struck between the City and the WA State Government will allow public use of school sites.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said the partnership between the City and State Government provided an ideal solution to easing pressure on local sports fields and facilities.

“The shared use agreement maximises use of public open space and creates better community facilities,” he said. “The new Harrisdale Pavilion and Playing Field forms part of an important education and community precinct to service the fast growing community.”

“And now the facility is complete, there is a fantastic opportunity for new clubs to make best use of the brand new amenities and call the pavilion their own.”

To determine the most suitable users for the venue, clubs and groups are asked to submit a Registration of Interest (RoI).

Winter tenants will be restricted to sports that use rectangular fields due to the lighting infrastructure.

For a copy of the RoI visit www.armadale.wa.gov.au, or phone 9394 5000.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday 6 January before a panel determines the most suitable users for the venue.
