The City’s landmark building, Orchard House at 151 Jull Street is now fully leased.

The four-storey, 5500 square metre complex was built to house up to 450 government workers to service the rapidly growing Armadale population. One floor is temporarily allocated to City staff until the City’s own accommodation needs can be resolved.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said all available space in the new complex had been leased.

“This new building provides a quality example of commercial building we want to see in Armadale and creates a centralised location for services in the southeast corridor.

“The City needed some space for our own immediate purposes but also needed government jobs to be attracted into the City Centre. This building has attracted nearly 200 new jobs into the district and has set the tone for our future plans for the Civic Precinct.

“The Department of Child Protection is the anchor tenant taking up two floors within the building. The remaining space is leased to a non-government organisation and other State agencies, with some City of Armadale staff occupying the top floor.

“We are very pleased with how quickly the building has been leased. The original business case for the project has now been fulfilled and the demand we have seen for this space is testament to our rapidly growing community,” he said.
