City of Armadale suburb
Release Date:
Wednesday, 7 June 2023

The City of Armadale is inviting submissions from residents on the proposed differential rates and minimum payments being proposed for the 2023/24 financial year.

The City levies rates to construct and maintain facilities and infrastructure and deliver all of the services that our community requires.

Differential rates are proposed to be levied on all rateable land. There are four rate groups proposed: vacant land, residential improved land, improved land zoned for business purposes and rural.

Applying differential rates allows the fairest share of costs. The types of properties have different cost implications for service delivery, and the proposed differential rates are reflective of those costs. A Statement of Rating Objects and Reasons explaining the proposed differential rates can be found on the City’s website www.armadale.wa.gov.au and is available for inspection at the Administration Centre or libraries during business hours.

The Council is proposing an increase of 4.5%, based on the West Australian Local Government’s Association’s forecast cost index increase of 4.5% for 2023.

Ratepayers have until 5pm on Wednesday 21 June to make a written submission to the City on the proposed differential rates and minimum payments.

Submission can be emailed to info@armadale.wa.gov.au or forwarded to Locked Bag 2, Armadale 6992 or can be delivered to the Administration Centre at 7 Orchard Avenue, Armadale.
