Young people aged six to 18 years are invited to take part in the City of Armadale’s Night Fields program, supported by Telstra, and participate in free AFL and Netball sessions.
City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said that the Night Fields program is a great opportunity for our young people to try out a sport they’re interested in and get involved in the community.
“We’re delighted to be hosting this program, which not only helps to get young people active, but provides a positive outlet for social interaction in our community.
“Participants are also in for a surprise, with a special guest appearance from players from the Fremantle Dockers during the sessions.
“It’s a great opportunity for our local boys and girls to take part in a football or netball session in a fun, safe and supportive environment – all for free.
“We encourage all our local young people to come down and give it a go,” he said.
Telstra Community Engagement Manager, WA, Hannah Wells said we’re proud to bring this football and netball clinic to Armadale where we can watch the kids thrive in the sports they love.”
After registration is completed, participants will be grouped according to age and then take part in their selected sports in a relaxed and chilled out fashion.
The Night Fields program will be held at Gwynne Park, Seventh Road, Armadale and entails two hourly sessions held on Wednesday afternoons from 4 to 6pm.
The program commences on Wednesday 10 May and then 17 May, 24 May and 31 May. A free sausage sizzle will be provided to all participants during the evening.
