There’s no need for the children to be bored these school holidays with plenty of activities available to keep them entertained at the City of Armadale libraries.

Crafternoon – CDs in Space

Monday 2 October, 2 – 3pm
Seville Grove Library

Come along and enjoy craft activities. You can make some stars and planets using CDs. Suitable for children aged five years and older.

Edison Robotics with Scitech – two sessions available

Tuesday 3 October, 1 – 2pm or 2.30 – 3.30pm
Kelmscott Library

Explore the fascinating world of robotics and computer programming using Edison robots. Learn how sensors work and how to program a robot.

Suitable for children aged nine to 15 years.

Song Writing Workshop

Tuesday 3 October, 1.30 – 4.30pm
Armadale Library

Perth music producer and songwriter, Leon Ewing, has travelled the country playing music and brings communities together through film making and song.

Young aspiring song writers aged 12 to 17 years can explore: what a song is, what makes it better, and what processes and techniques they can use to find their own voice and develop skills as a song writer.

Blast off! Storytime and craft

Wednesday 4 October, 10 – 11am
Stargate Shopping Centre

Come to the Stargate Shopping Centre for a library storytime and craft session. We will blast off with space stories and a rocket ship craft activity.

Suitable for all the family. Bookings are not required.

Lego at the Library

Friday 6 October, 10.30 – 11.30am
Armadale Library

Build some spaced out Lego creations! There will be games and challenges.

Suitable for children aged six to 12 years.

Learning English through Storytime

This program will run for seven sessions
Seville Grove Library, Monday mornings, 10.30 –11.30am
Session dates:
16, 23 and 30 October
6,13, 20 and 27 November

Learning English through Storytime workshops assist families to improve and practice English in a fun educational environment.

These sessions include songs, rhymes and stories plus interactive activities which develop children's confidence and school readiness.

The program is suitable for children aged three to four years and their carers. Adults should be able to speak basic English as parents and children participate in the activities together.

Let the trees do the talking

Tuesday 24 October, 10am - noon
Meet outside History House Museum

Kim Fletcher, a walking encyclopedia of local history, will guide you on this CBD mini-tour as you discover, or perhaps rediscover Armadale's heritage and significant trees. Along the way, you will also learn about the district's history dating back to the mid-1800s.
