Creyk Park
Release Date:
Thursday, 3 February 2022

Creyk Pavilion was officially opened today by City of Armadale Mayor, Ruth Butterfield. This major infrastructure project provides the community with a multi-purpose facility to accommodate senior sport and community activity across the Kelmscott community.

The new 850m2 pavilion includes a main hall, multi-purpose room, club rooms, four all gender change rooms, along with facilities to support the use of the oval, including cricket nets. The works at Creyk Park in Kelmscott were completed in January 2022.

Matt Keogh MP, Federal Member for Burt said the Creyk Pavilion will be a fantastic community hub for Kelmscott and Armadale residents for generations to come.

“I congratulate the City of Armadale in prioritising community facilities that will benefit a huge cross section of our community,” Mr Keogh said.

Mayor Butterfield said the new Creyk Pavilion is an asset for local residents.

“It accommodates shared community use alongside seasonal sports. The pavilion has a range of non-sporting uses with its main hall and multi-purpose room available for casual and regular users. Creyk Park has been an integral part of the Kelmscott community for many, many years and it’s great to see it get a new lease of life. This is a building that we can all be proud of and we hope the Kelmscott community enjoys the new amenities,” said Mayor Butterfield.

The construction of the pavilion was made possible through funding from the Australian Government through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.  This program supports local councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects across Australia, supporting jobs and the resilience of local economies to help communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.
