As part of the City of Armadale’s ongoing commitment to improving our parks, the City will be undertaking upgrade works in Memorial Park, Armadale to install a railway themed playground.
The playground area will be temporarily closed, from Sunday 29 April, with works to commence in May.
The new railway inspired playground will include a train station with a rail bridge and a community swing, climbers, slides, and an all abilities seesaw.
The playground will also feature an authentic railway signal restored to its former glory and installed as a centrepiece to the project.
Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the City’s popular and much loved Memorial Park will remain open to the community and users for general recreation during this period.
“However the central playground area will be fenced off during construction and reopened once upgrades are complete in late August.
“The timing of the works has been scheduled to coincide with the end of school holidays and the quieter winter season approaching.
“Everyone will be happy to hear that the established vegetation within the reserve, that provides ambience and shade over the playground, will be conserved in its current state,” he said.
Park users are encouraged to use the reserve where there are no works being undertaken. However, we do ask that you stay clear of construction works at all times.
