Release Date:
Wednesday, 23 November 2016

Christmas cheer will bring smiles to children and families as the City of Armadale hosts the annual Carols by Candlelight and Christmas Parade on Friday 2 December.

While the event has moved to a Friday night the format remains the same, with the Christmas Parade featuring a variety of colourful characters including around 15 different community groups leading the crowd through Jull Street Mall to the magical setting of Memorial Park.

Here Santa Claus will give his traditional Christmas address before the audience is treated to a musical spectacular with performances by local schools and community choirs supported by highly acclaimed and award winning Armadale City Concert Band.

The City is pleased to welcome back event favourite and international songstress Katherine John, alongside the Classic Sounds Ensemble and the Roleystone Christmas Choir who will be joined by choirs from Armadale Primary School, John Wollaston Anglican Community School and Clifton Hills Primary School.

A Salvation Army Christmas Appeal Food Bank will be stationed in the park, and guests are urged to donate non-perishable food items to help brighten the Christmas of families in need.

The Christmas Parade will start at 6pm in Jull Street Mall, while the Carols by Candlelight will start at 7pm in Memorial Park.

The event is free and families are encouraged to attend early to get close to the parade. Carols by Candlelight is proudly brought to you by the City of Armadale and Lend Lease through the Armadale Shopping City.
