In line with State Government directives, the City of Armadale will implement interim restrictions as part of a cautious approach to reopening facilities from midnight tonight.

The interim restrictions will be in place for the next four days - specifically from 12.01am Tuesday 27 April, through to 12.01am on Saturday 1 May.

Under the transition plan, from tomorrow, there will be a 20-person limit in all homes, and private indoor and outdoor gatherings across the Perth metropolitan and Peel region.

The majority of City facilities will reopen, with the 4 square metre capacity rule in place and a limit of 20 patrons, not including staff.

The following facilities will reopen with capacity limits and some restrictions in place:

  • Council Administration
  • Champion Centre
  • Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre
  • History House Museum
  • Armadale, Seville Grove and Kelmscott Libraries
  • Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility
  • City Playgrounds, BBQ areas, public toilets, skate and dog parks
  • City community buildings

For the next four days, community sport and training can proceed with players and officials, but no spectators.

The following facilities will remain closed until further notice:

  • Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre (AFAC)
  • Armadale Arena

AFAC members can rest assured that they will be credited for any time they cannot access the centre during the lockdown. These credits will be applied in arrears, and will be reflected on your next debit.

Any community facility bookings can contact the City to arrange alternative dates or a refund can be processed accordingly.

COVID Safe Plans and additional hygiene measures will be in place as we manage patron limits.

Wearing masks will remain mandatory when in public and when at work and as such, must be worn at all venues, both indoors and outdoors, and on public transport. Contact registers and Safe WA will continue to be used.

We will continue to follow the government’s health advice and do what’s in the best interest of our community. You can find more information at www.wa.gov.au

The City will continue to reassess its position in line with the State Governments direction later this week.
