After some fierce competition with dazzling displays of Christmas lights, the City of Armadale is excited to announce the two winners of its 2023 Connected Community Christmas Lights Trail competition.

The Best Solar/Green Display Private Residence prize went to Romela Sanggalan from 4 Seine Mews, Champion Lakes, and features 78 festive decorations including nativity scenes, starbursts, meteor showers, holograms, fairy lights and hundreds of solar powered, brightly coloured Christmas lights.

And the entry from Leah Porter at 11 Randwick Bend, Harrisdale, has taken out the Best Private Residence prize and features snowmen, shooting stars, Santa and his reindeers and countless Christmas lights.

Both winners walk away with a $750 cash prize, and they are joined by over a dozen additional runners up who have been awarded $100 and $50 vouchers from selected local businesses who are members of the Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre.

City of Armadale Mayor Ruth Butterfield said this year’s Connected Community Christmas Lights Trail was a fantastic way for the Armadale community to connect and engage in a fun, festive activity over the Christmas period.

“Our 2023 Connected Community Christmas Lights Trail competition continues to be a wonderful way to share the Christmas spirit in our community, encouraging City of Armadale residents to have a stroll around their neighbourhood and a chat with other locals.

“Congratulations to Leah and Romela, and all of the runners up and households that participated this year. The displays have been a welcome addition to our suburbs and have helped to light up the lives of both young and old alike this Christmas.”
