The popular annual Armadale Multisport Day will return to Gwynne Park Oval this month, providing children and young people an opportunity to try six different sports for free.

Six to 18 year olds are invited to participate in a round-robin style event and try their hand at football, soccer, hockey, basketball, cricket and rugby from 2 to 6pm on Thursday 24 January.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said participating in sport and joining a local club is a fantastic way to get children and young people involved in the community and healthy, active lifestyles.

“We have a great range of local clubs and sporting opportunities for young people locally.

“Families are welcome and there will also be separate activities for siblings under six years old, in addition to a fun zone.

“A free light dinner will be provided to all participants concluding the event.”

The multisport day is made possible by key youth and sporting partners including: headspace Armadale, Save the Children, Hope Community Services, YMCA, Mission Australia, Centrecare, Communicare, Full Service School, PTA, WAPOL, Hockey WA, Basketball WA, WACA, WAFC and Rugby WA.

No experience is necessary with participants invited to register on arrival.

Parent signatures will be required for all young people under 18 years old.
