City of Armadale resident’s will not have far to travel for a free hearing assessment – as the Australian Hearing Bus is coming back to Memorial Park in Armadale, on Monday March 17.

The mobile service is proving a successful initiative with senior residents keen to use the hearing services in Armadale, instead of travelling to the permanent hearing centres located in Cannington and Fremantle.

During the last screening day 17 residents, who were aware that they could have hearing loss, took advantage of the free hearing screening service.

Mayor Henry Zelones said hearing loss was detected in 13 clients which prove it is important for people to have a regular hearing check.

"Hearing loss is more common than you think, it affects one in six Australians and the numbers continue to grow.

"If anyone is concerned about their hearing, I encourage them to take the opportunity to visit the bus for a free hearing check while it is in Armadale,” said Mayor Zelones.

Australian Hearing is a leading provider of hearing services for children, young adults, pensioners, veterans and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the community.

The bus will be in Memorial Park, opposite Armadale Centre Shopping Centre on Monday March 17 from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
