Meet local police and fire services at a free Community Safety Day at Piara Waters Oval on Sunday, 9 October.

Part of Community Safety Month, the City is hosting the event to provide residents information on community safety and services available in the area.

Community Safety month promotes shared responsibility for safety across the community, raising awareness of safe behaviours and promoting active participation.

Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said this includes road and water safety, emergency management, hazards within the home or workplace, suicide and alcohol related violence.

“Community Safety Month is held every October and reminds us all that we all have a role in making our communities a safer place to live, work, play and travel,” he said

“This community day will provide an opportunity for residents to become better informed around community safety issues, participate in a wide variety of activities and learn how to make safe behaviour choices.”

Held from 10 am to 3pm, the Community Safety Day will include plenty of giveaways, bicycle servicing from the Bike Doctor, a visit from Constable Care and plenty of fun activities.
