Daily community liaison patrols will commence from Sunday, 1st November in the Jull Street Mall, following the appointment of Southern Cross Protection services.

At an Ordinary Council Meeting, held in September, Council authorised additional operational expenditure from the 2020/2021 budget for security personnel who will provide customer services to visitors and the local community over the upcoming holiday period.

City of Armadale Mayor Ruth Butterfield said the City's priority is to ensure the community and visitors feel safe and welcome in the Jull Street Mall, particularly as people start to plan for Christmas shopping outings.

“The Jull Street Mall security and community liaison service will focus on providing information, directions and guidance to visitors to the Mall and adjoining shopping centres, and will also be on hand if there is any anti-social behaviour.

“Council has carefully considered the short term options relating to the Mall, including community feedback. We are confident that this will provide immediate relief to some of the concerns raised by local business owners, while we await the pre-feasibility study for the City Views Concept.”

Weekly timetables will be in place to suit peak times.
