First aid equipment, uniforms for volunteers, a cricket clinic and coaching accreditation, display banners, and environmental information packs are just some of the items funded in the latest round of City of Armadale community grants.

Fourteen local, not-for-profit organisations with special projects will benefit from the grants, worth a total of $9084.

The City provides two rounds of community grant funding each financial year, with the aim of supporting community-based initiatives developed by groups located in the City of Armadale.

Sporting clubs, schools, welfare, arts, youth, seniors and ethnic groups can apply for grants of up to $1000 for a project which benefits members of our community.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said the small grants had a big impact on reducing costs for organisations with limited funding options.

“Our region’s volunteer-based clubs and groups provide valuable services for the community and the City is pleased to assist them with these community grants.

“While our funding pool is limited, we do our best to help as many organisations as possible throughout the year, which in turn benefits a great number of our residents.

“The broad range of events, activities and initiatives covered in this round of grants shows some of the great and diverse work our community groups are doing,” said Mayor Zelones.
