The City of Armadale hosted its first Better Business Forum last Thursday 14 March 2024. The event was a resounding success after reaching maximum capacity several weeks prior with pre-registrations.

The event was hosted at Beaver Tree Services in Forestdale Business Park and saw 48 attendees representing 31 local businesses.  A range of industries were represented including manufacturing, healthcare, import and export, construction, retail, and aged care.

The City held the event in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA (CCIWA). Keynote speaker, Aaron Morey, CCIWA Chief Economist gave an overview of WA’s economy and addressed some of the potential economic threats from around the world. Michael Carter, Manager International Trade and Investment at CCIWA spoke about the impacts of Free Trade Agreements on import and export costs.

The event’s goal was to attract a wide range of local businesses and create a stimulating environment for networking and a range of relevant presentations.

Mayor Ruth Butterfield said: “It is great to see local businesses come together and join our shared vision to continue the positive economic growth we are experiencing in the City of Armadale.  Forums like this provide the perfect opportunity to share information and connect with other local business operators.”

Michael Carter, Manager International Trade and Investment at CCIWA said: “The City of Armadale is emerging as a powerhouse industrial and logistics precinct, underpinning the state’s broader economy. There is real energy and momentum for development here.”

Thank you to CCIWA and Beaver Tree Services for supporting this successful event, and to all those who attended and contributed to the evening.
