Open to students in Years 11 and 12 throughout the Perth metropolitan region, high schools have put forward student works across seven categories including; painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, digital media/photography and mixed media.
The exhibition this year includes 66 of the best contemporary artworks by young artists from 14 high schools across the metropolitan region, including five local high schools.
City of Armadale Mayor Ruth Butterfield said the City is pleased to pay tribute to up and coming artists and highlight the incredible talent amongst our young people through this exhibition and awards.
“We recognise the importance for budding young artists to have their work showcased to the public and these art awards provide a unique professional development opportunity by offering a space where students can exhibit their work.
“I encourage anyone with a love for the arts to come along and view the works of these incredibly talented young people and support their achievements”.
The exhibition can be viewed by the public from the opening awards night on Friday 11 August from 7pm to 8.30pm and then daily from Saturday 12 to Sunday 20 August between 11am and 4pm each day at the Armadale District Hall, Armadale.
