The City of Armadale will continue to operate Armadale Golf Course until January 2016.

The City has been investigating numerous approaches to making the course operationally sustainable.

“We have been liaising with stakeholders, including local clubs, and potential operators for some time now and unfortunately we have not yet found a suitable operator,” said Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP.

“Before a final decision is made we want to ensure we have exhausted every possible avenue for retaining the facility and optimising the community amenity that exists in our region.

“The City is rapidly growing and we want to be thorough in all our planning processes to ensure we can provide amenities, infrastructure and services for our current and emerging communities.

“At this stage Council has made the decision to continue to operate the course at a cost of up to $26,000 per month until January 2016, and investigate additional and alternative uses of the Course.”
