Youth

The City is dedicated to providing young residents with a range of opportunities to contribute and participate in their community.

The City works alongside and builds relationships with local community groups and young people to develop initiatives which aim to support young people.

  • Urban Arts Projects

    The City invites talented young people who have an interest in urban art, to get involved in a range of creative art projects. In 2016 youth are invited to register for the City’s legal Armadale Paint Jams, painting large murals throughout the City.

  • Skate Parks,Clinics and Comps

    Come and check out the City’s skate facilities. We have several top notch skate parks and deliver regular skate, scooter and BMX workshops and events for youth throughout the year.

  • Ignite Basketball

    The Drug Aware Ignite Basketball Program aims to provide quality recreational and educational opportunities on a weekly basis to young people aged between 12 -18 years.

    An exclusive empowerment program that celebrates young women’s capabilities and individuality, aiming to boost positive mental health, build skills and self-confidence and foster positive body image.

  • Artbeat - National Youth Week

    The City partners with local organisations to deliver Artbeat Youth Fest, a National Youth Week celebration bringing festivity and fun to celebrate local youth in a free event.

    Hope Community Services - Youth Street Van

    The City of Armadale contracts Hope Community Services to visit Armadale with their street van and provide youth outreach every Thursday night.

    Young Writers' Awards

    This creative writing (prose only) competition is open to students who reside or attend school in the City of Armadale in years 3 to 12.

    The City of Armadale facilitates a network with stakeholders who work with young people in the Armadale area. The AYN aims to improve service delivery and outcomes for the youth in our community.

    FRAMED is the City’s annual free youth music and arts event  of the year. The music event runs alongside the Outside the Frame youth art awards in the District Hall and features live music from local bands in a night of entertainment.
