Worm Farming

Would you like to be smarter about how you dispose of your waste and feel better about how you’re helping the environment?

Worm farming is one of the common practices available to residents to reduce food waste at home. It ensures that food waste doesn't end up in landfill where it can contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.

Attend an information session to learn about some innovative waste reduction initiatives.

During these sessions, you will learn:

  • How to use worm farms
  • The role worms have in recycling and waste management
  • Setting up your worm farm for success

Did You Know?

It is estimated that one person generates up to 300kgs of food waste per year, accounting for approximately 8 percent of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing the amount of compostable waste going to landfill will reduce the adverse environmental impact.
