T is for TAKE
There are specialist companies that recover items that cannot be placed in your kerbside recycling bin. Items such as batteries, fluorescent globes and tubes, electronic waste (e.g., TVs, computer equipment and appliances) and hazardous wastes (e.g. chemicals, boat flares, gas canisters and paint). TAKE these items to drop off points to ensure resources are recovered and items are safely disposed.

Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is the unwanted products that were used in and around the home that are flammable, toxic, reactive or corrosive. If not disposed of correctly, HHW can pose serious environmental and health risks.

There are places to safely dispose of household hazardous wastes such as chemicals, batteries, aerosols, e-waste boat flares, gas canisters, paint and so on. Find out what items are classified as household hazardous waste as well as where you can take these items for FREE, visit Hazardous Waste Disposal.

Containers for Change

Containers for Change is Western Australia’s container deposit scheme that encourages Western Australians to collect and return eligible containers to designated refund points to receive a 10c refund per item.

Container for Change also provides an exciting fundraising opportunity for schools, local sports clubs, community groups, charities and worthwhile causes.
