The City of Armadale is proud to host Youth Boost, a free event for young people on Friday 9 October from 1 to 5pm at the Youth Activity Area, Orchard Avenue, Armadale.

Youth Boost will be a fun event for 12 to 25 year olds to support youth mental health.

There will be activities, urban art workshops, a skate, scooter and BMX competition, music and a free BBQ.

Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said the City of Armadale has a strong commitment to public health and wellbeing and has identified mental health as one of our key priorities for our region.

“Approximately 15% of our population suffers from a mental health issue, which itself is a frightening statistic.

“Events such as Youth Boost create a community space that supports recovery and social inclusion. It provides a safe and positive space for young people to gather and socialise whilst also being active,” he said.

Youth Boost will be held during Mental Health Week, 2 to 10 October. The event has been proudly funded by the Ministerial Council of Suicide Prevention (on behalf of OneLife).

Youth Boost is a free event bought to you by the City of Armadale. For more information, contact 9394 5642 or visit www.armadale.wa.gov.au.
