Local young people are invited to share their stories of inspiration, resilience and innovation in the City of Armadale's new social media campaign #whoweare for a chance to win a $50 Armadale Shopping City Voucher and have their stories showcased and celebrated.

The campaign is giving local young people aged 12 to 25 years old, the platform to share their stories and feel empowered about being a young person in the City of Armadale.

The City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP, said young people make up a significant fabric of Armadale's local society, but are often not accurately represented or perceived by media and community.

“This opportunity allows our young residents to show their own community who they really are,” he said.

“Every young person's story is worth sharing so we strongly encourage any young person with a story they want to share, to make a submission.”

“While the story guidelines are open and do not place strict guidelines around stories, some suggested categories include triumph over personal hardship, contribution to community, demonstrated leadership and dedication to the sporting community.”

Up to 10 stories will be selected by a judging panel to be showcased and celebrated through the City of Armadale's social media channels during WA Youth Week, which runs from 13 – 20 April.

The successful stories will also be visually represented in a physical format at the annual Artbeat Youth Fest on Saturday 18 May.

ll accepted story submissions will go in the draw to win a $50 Armadale Shopping City Gift Card, and up to ten stories will be selected to be showcased in the campaign.

To enter, visit www.armadale.wa.gov.au/artbeat-youth-fest-national-youth-week and download the submission form and view the terms and conditions.
