A presentation ceremony for the winners of the FOCUS Photographic competition was held at the City of Armadale's Armadale Library on Saturday 26 May 2018.
Open to adult amateur photographers, the theme of this years' competition was The City at Play with two categories of Present Day and Historical (pre 1990).
Photographers were required to capture moments of outdoor fun at any of the City of Armadale’s leisure spots, many of which are well known, some of which are hidden, some built to purpose, and others just happy accidents of nature.
City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the competition this year attracted a total of 51 entries across the two categories.
“The City is very keen to expand on the Birtwistle Local Studies Library's Picture Armadale photographic collection.
“Our residents spend their leisure time in so many different ways and locations throughout the City, and this year the entries captured some remarkable images of our local parks and playgrounds, community events and facilities.
“For anyone interested in viewing the winning photographs, visit the display at the Armadale Library from Sunday 27 May to Friday 22 June,” he said.
