King of the Hill 2018
Release Date:
Monday, 19 March 2018

Winners of the King of the Hill Skateboarding and Scooter competition qualifiers will find out who will be crowned the 2018 King of the Hill this weekend.

The skateboarding and scooter enthusiasts will go head-to-head in the final heat of the competition series from 5 – 9pm at Cross Park Skate Park in Roleystone on Saturday.

The City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said that the City is proud to host the final heat in the popular skate and scooter competition series which has been running for the past five weeks.

“Skate parks remain popular community hubs in our communities and are important for giving young people an outlet where they can exercise outdoors, be among their peers and enjoy our local parks.

“This competition has been instrumental in bringing young people skating and scooter enthusiasts together while highlighting the importance of mental health in young people.

“Throughout the series, the Cities of Armadale, Belmont, Gosnells and Canning have partnered with headspace Armadale to highlight the importance of mental health support and community connection for young men and to encourage families and wider community to be more aware of issues affecting young people.”

Residents are invited to come down and support the participants and enjoy a free sausage sizzle.

“The Roleystone qualifier on 3 March drew a crowd of more than 120 people who came to support 42 competitors; we are hoping we can attract the same numbers this weekend.”
