In recognition of International Volunteer Manager’s Day the City of Armadale hosted an event at Bakers House to celebrate the efforts of volunteer managers.

Volunteer managers registered with the City of Armadale’s Volunteer Services, were invited to a Volunteer Managers Recognition luncheon on Wednesday 5 November.

Mayor Henry Zelones said the afternoon featured speakers from the Corporate Volunteering Unit at Volunteering WA and Big Help Mob, which are a mob of ordinary people who combine their powers to perform extraordinary feats of volunteering.

“Volunteer managers have significantly contributed to the community over many years and are often the driving force behind teams of volunteers.

“Their community spirit and dedication to local projects is what continually improves the City of Armadale.

“The luncheon was a small token of appreciation from the City, a way of expressing our gratitude to all those that selflessly and diligently work towards making the City of Armadale a great place in which to live, work and play,” said Mayor Zelones.
