Twenty high schools will showcase their students’ talent in Armadale through Outside the Frame, one of Perth’s most thought provoking art exhibitions for emerging artists.

Open to high school students across Years 11 and 12 throughout the Perth metropolitan region, the Outside the Frame Art Awards showcase an array of artwork expressions from around 70 of Perth’s up and coming young artists.

The awards features seven categories - painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, digital media/photography and this year mixed media has also been included.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said that since the inception of Outside the Frame in 1999, the City has remained committed to celebrating the creative talents of our younger generations and providing a platform where they can communicate current thoughts and concerns to a wider audience.

“We are also very pleased to be able to offer the Heron Park School Bus Subsidy thanks to the support of the Satterley Property Group through the Heron Park Estate. This subsidy assists schools with the excursions costs of bringing students to the exhibition,” he said.

“We are proud to pay tribute to our up and coming artists and highlight the incredible artistic talent evident among our young people by presenting the Outside the Frame Art Awards,

“I encourage everyone to come along and view the works of these incredibly talented young people and continue to support their achievements.”

Entrants will be in the running to win prizes across each category, a local artist award and the Smarter Choice Award and the school with the best collective works wins a $1000 cash prize.

The exhibition can be seen at the Armadale District Hall from Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 August between 11am to 4pm daily. For more information on the Heron Park School Bus Subsidy please email events@armadale.gov.au or call 9394 5000.
