Nearly 100 young artists from 24 schools across Perth once again impressed judges with the level of talent and creativity exhibited at the Outside the Frame Art Awards.

The exhibition is being held at the Armadale District Hall from 11am to 4pm daily until Sunday 23 August.

“The event has been running for the past 16 years and provides young people with artistic aspirations and opportunity to display their work in a professional, curated exhibition,” said Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP.

“This year the Curator and judges were impressed with the high quality of works as well as the great amount of detail used.

“It is fantastic to see young people from all over Perth descend onto Armadale to display their works. This exhibition is a cultural asset for our community and fosters the young talent we have in our region.

“Armadale is home to a number of professional artists, some of whom exhibit internationally. We have a very strong art community here and Outside the Frame is a great way to support and mentor young artists as they develop their artistic skills.

“We have been pleased to have Satterley come on board through the Heron Park Estate with us this year and sponsor the Smarter Choice Award for Excellence, the Heron Park People’s Choice Award and the Heron Park School Bus Subsidy.

“The subsidy is an exciting addition to this year’s program providing schools the opportunity to bring groups to the exhibition and celebrate the work of their peers,” he said.
