The City of Armadale will once again hold one of Perth’s most thought provoking exhibition for emerging high school artists in the Outside the Frame Art Awards.

The Outside the Frame Art Awards displays the artistic talents of our youth, open to students in Years 11 and 12, throughout the Perth metropolitan region.

“This unique awards exhibition will showcase an array of creative expressions from Perth’s up and coming young artists,” said Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP.

“The City is committed to enhancing the cultural vitality of our community by providing opportunities for young artists to exhibit their works in Armadale.

“We want to provide professional development opportunities for young people and foster their artistic talents through events such as Outside the Frame.

“We encourage everyone to come along and view the works of these incredibly talented young people and continue to support their achievements,” he said.

The awards will be open to six categories: painting, drawing, prints, sculpture, textiles and digital media/photography.

Entrants will be in the running to win prizes across each category, a local artist award, an award for overall excellence and a $1000 cash prize for the school with the best collective works.

The exhibition will be open from 15 to 23 August, 11am to 4pm daily at the Armadale District Hall, corner Jull Street and Church Avenue, Armadale.
