Are you interested in volunteering but aren’t sure how to get started?

Then head to the Armadale Library on Thursday 20 March from 6 – 7pm for a free information session to encourage volunteering in the community.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said volunteering is a worthwhile and a rewarding way to give something back to your community.

“We are fortunate to already have a great bunch of people in our community, who give their time to help out various organisations throughout the region.

“But we are always looking for more community members to become volunteers. It doesn’t matter what age you are, what experience you have or whether you can only spare a few hours at a time – there is certain to be a role for you.

“Volunteers gain a great sense of accomplishment, pride and enjoyment from their work in the community and I encourage any interested residents to come along and find a position that is perfect for you,” said Mayor Zelones.

Volunteering covers a variety of positions including youth work, aged care, health services, and environmental services just to name a few and this free session is a great way to find out about hundreds of positions available for volunteers.

For catering purposes, please RSVP by Thursday 20 March to volunteering@armadale.wa.gov.au or phone 9399 0642.
