Memorial Park will come alive on Sunday 7 December as the City of Armadale celebrates its annual Carols by Candlelight event.

The evening kicks off from 6.30pm with the popular Christmas characters toy parade through the Jull Street Mall before moving onto Memorial Park.

Mayor Henry Zelones said the Christmas Carol singing will be led by Classic Sounds Vocal Ensemble, the Roleystone Theatre Choir and Armadale Primary School.

"This year we have Dale Christian College and John Wollaston Anglican Primary Community School joining in the event, and I'm told they are singing up a storm during their rehearsals.

"Lots of people dress up or attach some Christmas sparkle to their clothing, which adds to the Christmas spirit," said Mayor Zelones.

Everyone is invited to bring their best singing voices and join in all the Christmas favourites, including Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Joy to the World, O Christmas Tree and Hark the Herald Angels Sing.

LED candles will be available for a gold coin donation and song books will be provided to the public.

Carols by Candlelight is a smoke free event. Please be aware that dogs are not permitted on Memorial Park, Orchard Avenue, Armadale.
