The City of Armadale and local MLA, Tony Buti hosted a community reception for the Leader of the State Opposition, the Honourable Mark McGowan, MLA and his Shadow Cabinet Ministers on Monday 22 June, at the Armadale District Hall.
Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said it was an opportunity for the Opposition to explore and learn about the City of Armadale as a region and the needs of our fast growing community.
“The visit was a great opportunity for members of parliament to visit local facilities and see first-hand the amazing development taking place in the district. It also enabled discussions with local community members who were quick to ask questions of the Shadow Cabinet.
“Mr McGowan spoke highly of the re-vitalisation of the City Centre and Armadale as the Strategic Metropolitan Centre for the southeast corridor, concurring with the need for upgrades to the Armadale Justice Precinct.
“As a local government it is important that we keep up a dialogue with both sides of politics in the lead-up to the next State election. Armadale needs thesupport of future State Governments if it is to continue to prosper and grow,”said Mayor Zelones.
