The City of Armadale has planned a calendar of events as part of the Positive Ageing Seniors Festival for 2016.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP is encouraging seniors in the community to attend one or more of the events and make the most of the seniors’ celebrations that are planned throughout November.

“Don’t miss the free Positive Ageing Expo and concert taking place in the Jull Street Mall, Armadale and Armadale Shopping City.

This year the City has partnered with the City of Gosnells and Armadale Shopping City to host the Expo which is focussed on the benefits and importance of seniors staying active and healthy as they age.

The Expo is on Thursday 3 November from 9.30am to 1.30pm, with over 60 displays throughout the mall with information promoting physical health and mental well-being.

“There will also be a fashion parade, a Tai Chi and Living Longer Living Stronger demonstration and a free sausage sizzle provided by Neighbourhood Watch.

“While you sit and relax with friends you can enjoy some classic and contemporary music from the Lumen Christi College Swing Band followed by the John Calvin Christian College 40 piece concert band.

“There is plenty to do, see and participate in, during the Seniors Festival and I encourage everyone to make the most of this opportunity to relax, learn and be entertained,” said Mayor Zelones.
