Summer Reading Club: Game On!

1 December 2017 - 31 January 2018
All three Libraries

Get ready for a celebration of sports, games, technology and team spirit! Join the Summer Reading Club during the school holidays from 1 December 2017 to 31 January 2018.

Visit your local City of Armadale Library and register, borrow books and receive some fantastic rewards including: trading cards, stickers, and tattoos to get started, or you can register online at www.summerreadingclub.org.au.

Record how many books or hours you read over the Summer school holidays in your Reading Log and check out the Summer Reading Club website for activities and competitions.

When you have completed your Reading Log, come to the library and receive your certificate and extra rewards!

The Summer Reading Club is suitable for:
Preschool 0 - 5 years
Primary 6 - 12 years
Secondary 12 - 18 years

Visit www.summerreadingclub.org.au to enter competitions, post book raves, pictures and your Reading Log. Discover and even chat to some great authors and illustrators too!

Lego at the Library

Are you up for a Lego challenge? Build some creations and get your game on!

Book Cubby

Tuesday 16 January, 2 - 3.30pm
Kelmscott Library

The book cubby is a place for children to show off their creativity.

In this session everyone will have the opportunity to become a local published author and illustrator. Suitable for all ages.

Pyjama Story Time

Wednesday 17 January, 6.30 - 7.30pm
Armadale Library

Wear your pyjamas and bring your teddy to the library! We will read stories, sing songs and create craft. Suitable for all ages.

Board Games Morning

Friday 19 January, 10am – noon
Armadale Library

Beat holiday boredom and play some board games! We have a great selection including a giant Connect Four, Snakes and Ladders and Noughts and Crosses.

Suitable for children aged six to 12 years.

Hop, skip and jump into some old time games. We'll have fun playing games from past generations!

Seville Grove Library

Learn what it takes to make it in the animation industry with internationally renowned artist Dougy Pincott.

Dougy will guide you through this amazing creative process with art, poetry, lateral thinking, and plasticine.

Design a story board, build your character, then bring them to life using software developed in conjunction with Wallace and Gromit creators; Aardman Animation.

Dougy Pincott has worked with Oscar winning artists from Pixar, Disney, ILM, and DreamWorks.
