The second round of the City of Armadale’s Community Grants Program for 2016/17 will open on Thursday 2 March, 2017.

The City welcomes applications from community groups and not-for profit organisations that wish to receive up to $1000 funding for projects which benefit the local community.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said sporting clubs, schools, welfare, arts, youth, seniors and ethnic groups can apply for the grants before 31 March.

“Our region’s volunteer-based clubs and groups provide valuable services for the community and the City is pleased to assist them through these grants,” he said.

“The grants are a great opportunity for community groups to access funding to carry out small projects, provide information or training programs or purchase materials.”

The City provides two rounds of community grant funding each financial year, with the aim of supporting community-based initiatives developed by groups located in the City of Armadale.

“These small grants can have a big impact on reducing costs for groups and organisations with limited funding options”, said Mayor Zelones.

The City has revised its Financial Assistance Policy and it is now essential for community groups to attend a community workshop to be eligible to apply for the City’s community grants.

Two community workshops have been scheduled, to be held at the City of Armadale Administration Building, 7 Orchard Avenue, Armadale.

  • Session One Wednesday 1 March 6-7pm
  • Session Two Wednesday 8 March 3-4pm
