Be a part of the City of Armadale's 2018 Streamcare program and revitalise local streams and waterways and improve the habitat of your property.
The program provides landowners with an opportunity to access free native plants and technical advice relating to planting; careful use of weed control, fertilisers and pesticide and property planning.
Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said since the introduction of the waterways restoration project in 2002, the program has assisted hundreds of landowners.
“The best way of caring for these waterways is by assisting the residents to ensure local natural habitats are protected.
“Free native plants are available for eligible landowners through the program to revegetate and create a healthier environment along their river foreshore.
“Once registered the Streamcare team will arrange a site visit and provide technical advice specific to the property and landowner’s requirement.
“The more landowners we introduce to the program means the waterways in the area are protected for future generations. We are contributing to a difference to the waterways of the metropolitan area as these streams flow into the Wungong, Southern, Canning and eventually the Swan River,”
Landowners who have a stream or creek on, or near, their property are invited to participate in the program.
