“I’m so pleased and proud of our community who have followed the health advice to ‘stay home‘ and ‘wear a mask’, during the lockdown.  We appreciate everyone is keen to get back to our new ‘normal life’ as quickly as possible, however we ask for patience as we work within the transition plan restrictions,” said City of Armadale Mayor, Ruth Butterfield.

“There is no 'one size fits all' solution as each facility varies in size and patronage and decisions need to be made with this in mind.”

The Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre and Armadale Arena will resume normal operating hours from Saturday 6th, however, group fitness classes, swim school and crèche will not be available. The sauna, spa and steam room will remain closed. Swim School payments will be suspended until Sunday, 14 February 2021.

“COVID Safe Plans and additional hygiene measures will be in place as we manage patron limits,” said Mayor Butterfield.

Wearing masks will remain mandatory when in public and when at work and as such, must be worn at ALL venues.  Contact registers and SafeWA will continue as part of post lockdown life.

“We will continue to follow the government’s health advice and do what’s in the best interests of our community.”

The City will reassess its position when the next step in the State Government’s recovery transition plan is released.
