Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious behaviour in or near Rushton Park in Kelmscott, due to unconfirmed cases of poisoning in the area.

The City’s Ranger Services have received reports of two dogs that have died as a result of suspected poisoning, however it is yet to be confirmed that poison was involved.

Chief Executive Officer Ray Tame is encouraging residents to be vigilant if walking dogs in the Rushton Park area.

“Cases of dogs being poisoned in Rushton Park, Kelmscott are not confirmed, however the City’s Rangers are continuing to investigate and patrol, and we want residents to be aware that there may be an issue.

“Local vets have sent off toxicology tests and they are waiting on those reports to confirm whether poison was involved, and if so what type of poison.

“The City’s Rangers have searched the park and its surrounds a number of times and have not identified anything suspicious.

“Caution signs have been placed around Rushton Park, and dog walkers are being advised to keep their dogs on a lead at all times,” said Chief Executive Officer Ray Tame.

The City’s Rangers will continue to patrol the area regularly. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious behaviour in the area to the City’s Ranger Services on (08) 9399 0111 or 1300 886 885.
