Premier Colin Barnett will officially open the City of Armadale’s new government and Council office building in Jull Street on Monday 30 March.

The four-storey, 5500 square metre complex will provide accommodation for over 200 government officers and some City of Armadale staff.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said the new complex meets the growth requirements of the City of Armadale and will eventually be fully leased out when Council staff eventually come back together, into one administration building.

“This new building provides a quality example of the type of space required and creates a centralised location for services in the southeast corridor.

“We need space for our own immediate purposes but also need government and jobs to be attracted into the City Centre. This is a good business venture with excellent outcomes for the district. It will set the tone for our future plans for the Civic Precinct.

“Very soon the building will accommodate the Department of Child Protection on two floors and 83 City staff have already taken up residence on one floor.
