Throughout the year the City of Armadale is hosting a series of Positive Ageing Sessions at the Armadale Library to engage older members of the community.

The sessions are held each month and cover a wide range of topics such as safety and security, health, activities for older people and other useful information.

The next forum will be held at the Armadale Library, Armadale Central Shopping Centre, on Thursday 18 September from 5.30 to 7.30pm.

A financial planner from Western Financial Super will discuss issues relating to superannuation and retirement, and identify things to consider if you have recently retired or plan to retire soon.

Mayor Henry Zelones said the session would suit people who would like to know how to make their superannuation grow, especially during their later years in the workforce.

“The session will shed some light on contributing to superannuation; conditions of release, accounts based pensions and the importance of investment choice.

“You will also hear about how the Centrelink assessment of superannuation and income streams work and the impact of fees on your superannuation account balance,” said Mayor Zelones.

Light refreshments will be provided. Bookings are essential as numbers are limited. Call 9399 0125.
