The City of Armadale will be hosting a calendar of events as part of the Positive Ageing Seniors Festival for 2015.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP is encouraging seniors in the community to attend one or more of the events and make the most of the seniors’ celebrations that are planned.

“Every year we like to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions seniors make to our community. This year’s Seniors Festival is bigger and better with a variety of events sure to suit everyone.

“Why not get some friends together and enjoy the Seniors Mystery Bus Tour, on Monday 9 November.

“For those who like to be active, try Kayaking at Champion Lakes, take a Next Stop Armadale walking tour, or sit in on a free information session on how to scan your family photos or documents at Birtwistle Local Studies Library”.

“Don’t miss the Business Armadale Expo and free concert in the Jull Street Mall, on Friday 13 November from 11am – 4pm; with small businesses showcasing their products in marquees throughout the mall, a fashion parade, garden workshops and cooking and DIY demonstrations.

“Enjoy live music with local swing band Two Cent Professionals and the Katherine John Trio while you sit and relax or explore the numerous stalls from local businesses.

“There is plenty to do, see and participate in, during the Seniors Festival and I encourage everyone to make the most of this opportunity to relax, learn and be entertained,” said Mayor Zelones.

The Seniors Festival calendar of events is available on the City’s website or for further information contact 9394 5000.
