The recently installed 1200mm high boundary fence at the Piara Waters North Playing Field got the tick of approval from the City of Armadale, local members and sporting groups on Thursday.

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP met with Matt Keogh MP and Federal Member for Burt, Jandakot MLA Yaz Mubarakai, the Piara Waters Cricket Club, Piara Waters Junior Football Club and Piara Waters Senior Football Club at the oval to celebrate the completion of the fence.

“The cost of the much needed fence was covered by a $20,000 grant from each of the Local Members,” said Mayor Zelones.

“I would like to thank Matt Keogh for his $20,000 grant to the City and Yaz Mubarakai for the $20,000 which was presented to the Piara Waters Junior Football Club last year.”

The funding boost for the fencing provides a much safer environment for all users of the playing field.

“The fence has been completed to the City’s high standard and will provide a safety barrier to stop errant ground balls exiting the oval onto the road and to provide a barrier for unintended vehicles accessing the oval.”
