The City of Armadale is supporting Stockland to host a Community Open Day event, at the new Piara Waters Pavilion on Sunday 26 October.
The aim of the event is to encourage local residents to visit the new state of the art sporting facility, meet their local sporting clubs and other members of their local community.
Stockland WA General Manager, Col Dutton, said Piara Waters Pavilion was an outstanding new facility which would benefit local residents.
“I congratulate the City of Armadale on their delivery of the impressive Piara Waters Pavilion complex within Stockland’s Newhaven community. It is a high quality sporting facility which will be used all year round by local sporting teams, as well as accommodating a range of community events.
“As part of Stockland’s commitment to encouraging active lifestyles we are proud sponsors of Piara Waters Senior Cricket Club and Piara Waters Senior Football Club, both of whom play at this facility,” said Mr Dutton.
Mayor Henry Zelones said he was delighted the City was partnering with Stockland for the event to encourage residents to view the new complex and find out more about the facilities on offer there.
“The Community Open Day will include a variety of family activities such as a bouncy castle, face painting and a performance from the Piara Waters Primary School Choir.
“Other attractions include fun cricket activities for kids - both big and small, conducted by Jake Snadden from the Western Australian Cricket Association.
“Families are encouraged to ride to the oval and take advantage of the Bike Doctor from Jet Cycles in Kelmscott who will be conducting free bike checks, and also enter the draw for the chance to win a $200 voucher,” said Mayor Zelones.
The Community Open Day is a free event, at the Piara Waters Pavilion on Sunday 26 October from 1 to 4pm.
